Feature request
I think it would useful if you could chose to set alerts for data usage on specific adapters en0, en1 or fw0.

I'm permanently connected to an intranet via en0 and data usage isn't a concern on that adapter. I'm also connected to the internet via en1 and I have download/upload limits on that adapter. If I go over those limits I get penalised.

An alert warning when en1 was reaching my bandwidth limit would be very useful.

Constructive criticism on privacy
I don't like the way after running the installer it tried to open a url in my browser to phone home to codebox.org.uk.

I don't like the fact the web interface phones home to updates.codebox.org.uk and to paypal.com without asking or informing me first.
I don't like the fact the web interface tries to run a script from codebox.org.uk

It makes me very nervous when an app has access to such a sensitive part of the OS as networking, has root access and isn't being upfront about phoning home.
Are the daemons/utilities phoning home too?

I don't have the skills to audit the source code, but the web interface phoning home has got me questioning what else is going behind the scenes that I don't know about?
Which is a pity cause I really like every thing else about BitMeter.

Thanks for your comments. The only communication that takes place between BitMeter and the wider internet is via http requests sent from the web interface. The requests to updates.codebox.org.uk are simply to check for updates to the software, the Paypal request is to load in the 'Donate via Paypal' button on the About page - I cannot package this button as part of the application because that would be a breach of Paypal's T&Cs, so it has to be downloaded from the web.
